June in the Upper Midwest is a vibrant time filled with festivals, cultural events, and outdoor activities. Whether you’re in Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Michigan, there’s something for everyone.
Minnesota Events – June 2025
Stone Arch Bridge Festival – Minneapolis (June 14–15)
Set against the backdrop of the historic Stone Arch Bridge, this festival celebrates art and community. Attendees can explore works from local artists, enjoy live music, and partake in family-friendly activities.
Edina Art Fair – Edina (June 6–8)
One of the state’s largest art fairs, the Edina Art Fair showcases over 250 artists and crafters. Visitors can also enjoy a Kids Zone with face painting, music, and games.

The Preserve Championship – Clearwater (June 13–15)
Disc golf enthusiasts won’t want to miss this premier event featuring top professional players competing on the renowned Black Bear course.

American Craft Fest – Saint Paul (June 28–29)
Held at the Union Depot, this free festival offers hands-on activities, live craft demonstrations, and a vibrant emerging artist market, making it perfect for families.

Maple Plain Party in the Park – Maple Plain (June 7)
An evening of live music, food trucks, and family-friendly activities at Veterans Memorial Park.

June LakeFest – Eagan (June 10)
A community event focusing on fun by the lake, featuring activities for all ages.

Buffalo Days – Buffalo (June 12–14)
Enjoy a carnival, kiddie parade, free movie in the park, DJ, fireworks, and a grand parade through downtown.

Fridley ’49ers Days – Fridley (June 12–14)
Festivities include a parade, park activities, movie night, and numerous family and kids’ activities.

Champlin Father Hennepin Festival – Champlin (June 13–15)
A community celebration with live music, food vendors, and family-friendly entertainment.

Wisconsin Events – June 2025
Roofing of the Goats Parade and Festival – Sister Bay (June 14)
A quirky and beloved tradition, this event features a parade culminating in goats being led onto the grass-covered roof of Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant. Festivities include live music, games, and a Swedish Pancake Eating contest.

Musky Festival – Hayward (June 20–22)
Celebrating its 75th year, the Musky Festival is Wisconsin’s oldest fishing festival. Attendees can enjoy a weekend filled with music, food, and various family-friendly activities.

Wisconsin Free Fun Weekend (June 7–8)
During this weekend, visitors can enjoy free access to all Wisconsin state parks, forests, and trails. It’s an excellent opportunity to explore the state’s natural beauty without any fees.

Taste of the Door County Wine Trail – Baileys Harbor (June 21)
Sample wines from local wineries, enjoy live music, and savor cheese samples from Wisconsin cheesemakers.

Scouting the Zoo – Milwaukee (June 3–5)
The Milwaukee County Zoo hosts the Three Harbors Council of the Boy Scouts of America, featuring hand-created displays showcasing scouting skills and conservation activities.

Madison Jazz Festival – Madison (June 5)
Experience live jazz performances across various venues in Madison, celebrating the city’s vibrant music scene.

5k Beer Run x Big Head Brewing – Wauwatosa (June 14)
Combine fitness and fun with a 5k run followed by craft beer tasting at Big Head Brewing Co.

Paws & Claws Pet Walk – Milwaukee (June 8)
A pet-friendly walk supporting local animal shelters, featuring vendors, demonstrations, and activities for pets and owners.

Milwaukee Air & Water Show – Milwaukee (June 22–23)
Witness thrilling aerial performances over Lake Michigan, including military and civilian aircraft demonstrations.

Summerfest – Milwaukee (June 26–30)
Known as “The World’s Largest Music Festival,” Summerfest offers multiple stages with diverse musical acts, food vendors, and family-friendly activities.

Michigan Events – June 2025
Mackinac Island Lilac Festival – Mackinac Island (June 6–15)
The 10-day lilac festival is the first summer event of the season on Mackinac Island. Kite flying, parades, a poster contest, kids races, walking tours, cruises, and special tours of Fort Mackinac are all part of this festival.

Frankenmuth Bavarian Festival – Frankenmuth (June 12–15)
Celebrate German heritage with traditional music, dancing, food, and a festive parade in Michigan’s “Little Bavaria.”

Grand Rapids Lantern Festival – Grand Rapids (April 9–June 15)
John Ball Zoo was the first to bring these incredible works of art in Michigan. The lantern festival features handcrafted Asian lantern displays that illuminate the Zoo and tell the intersecting story of wildlife and Asian culture. It’s truly a breathtaking experience for all ages.

Pure Markette Farmers and Makers Market – Baldwin (June 4–August)
The Pure Markette Farmers and Makers Market will return for its second season on June 4, 2025, at the Wenger Pavilion in downtown Baldwin. Running every Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. through August—except during the week of the Troutarama Festival—the market will feature local produce, artisanal goods, baked items, and unique handcrafted products.

Wild Wednesdays Summer Camp – Big Rapids (June 11–July 16)
United Methodist Ministries of Mecosta is organizing a free summer program called “Wild Wednesdays” for children from kindergarten through sixth grade. Held at the Big Rapids First United Methodist Church at 304 Elm St., the camp runs every Wednesday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., starting June 11 and concluding on July 16 with a special family camp night.

Eat, Drink, & Conserve Wildlife – Alto (June 6)
It’s almost time for our popular adult only, after-hours, animal conservation event; Eat, Drink, & Conserve Wildlife. Details: The event is Friday June 6th and goes from 6 p.m.

Strawberry Festival – Armada (June 14–15)
Join us at Blake’s Strawberry Festival, where the orchard bursts with ripe strawberries and excitement! Bring the whole family for a day of fun in the fields, with children’s activities and line dancing for the adults.
